    AB Air Break

    The WATER SUPPLY (WATER FITTINGS) REGULATIONS 1999 states that a private water supply must not be allowed to cross contaminate with water supplied by a water authority unless an AB air break is installed.

    Many customers believe that double check valves are acceptable. This is not so as they are mechanical valves, subject to breakdown and therefore unacceptable to the regulation authority. To achieve this compliance, systems using booster pumps and tanks have been designed and examples from Grundfos and Lowara are available now.
